July 2017 – Week 1 – Pickups for the store

By | Gaming, News, Pickups | No Comments

As many of you know, we’ll soon be opening our lovely store in Sheffield. While we’re pretty stocked up already, it never hurts to grab a few more items ready for opening (and for VGM in August).

So I thought I’d run you through the nice set of pickups I’ve done this week!

First of all, there was someone’s entire collection. This collection consisted of several Gameboy Advance models, GBA games, 50+ unboxed Mega Drive carts (including Streets of Rage 3 and Probotector), and a whole heap of SNES and N64 games. There was one game of note in particular, which is nice and rare.

Castlevania – Vampire’s Kiss

Next up…

I bought someone’s PSP collection. I know the PSP isn’t exactly considered ultra retro, but I find these do really well at conventions. Not many other sellers take many PSP games, so I like to bring them along on the off chance.

A couple of days ago, I drove over to Chesterfield to pickup a PSOne bundle, which included a few Crash and Spyro games:

And finally, for the main event. Some 70+ Mega Drive games; most of which in the less common bracket, some even rare. Tintin Au Tibet, True Lies, Aero the Acro Rat to name but a few. Take a look through these beauties. All excellent condition; all with manual.

Have a good look through these. If there’s anything you really want, contact me by email (nathan@retromnia.com). I’m sure we can work something out!

And that’s that! Some amazing titles ready and waiting for sale.

If you want to keep up to date with our latest stock, or the status of our store opening soon in Sheffield, the best way to do so is to follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook.

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more pickups in the near future!

Retro Gaming Shop – Sheffield

By | Featured, News | No Comments

That’s right, folks! If you haven’t heard by now, I’ll soon be opening Sheffield’s only dedicated retro gaming store. I feel I should mention that it wouldn’t be the only retro game shop in Sheffield (Playtime on the Moor sells some retro), but nowhere else in Sheffield will you find over 6000 RETRO titles and over 100 consoles in store to browse at any given time.

Those new to following Retromnia might not be aware that we recently re-branded the company. The reason for this decision was pretty straight forward. Warped Retro wasn’t a great name, and it was part of my challenge to myself to form and launch a retro games e-commerce site and business in one day. I achieved it; doing over £5000 worth of sales in my first month. Now, a year later, we’ve amassed stock, and we’re regularly attending conventions, bringing great deals on the road, with us. Oh, and to those wondering, it’s pronounced ‘RET-ROM-NIA’; not retro mania!

Back to the shop… We’re aiming to make it nice place to come and hang out, whether you’re in the market to buy or not. We’ll have an arcade machine or two, along with a comfy sofa and retro console gaming area. There will be no cost to play on either of these; simply come on in and have a go and a chat! We’ll likely sell drinks (hot and cold) so you’re not sat parched during your gaming session. We’re also looking into hosting gaming competition nights (with a BYOB policy), too.

Finally, a bit about me. I left a well paid, professional job in the IT sector working for an American company to follow pursue my passion of gaming. Setting up this shop is a dream come true for me, so I hope that once we launch, we’ll see many of you coming to pay us a visit and showing your support by sharing our pages on social media! Let’s work together to give Sheffield the retro gaming store it so desperately needs!

Stay tuned for updates by following us on Facebook or Twitter for regular updates.
